Activities

Adult Pickleball Club

Pickleball is a cross between tennis, table tennis, and badminton. It is played with wooden paddles and a plastic Whiffleball. The object of the game is to hit the ball so that your opponent is unable to hit it back over the net. Hours of play are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the Douglass Center Gym.

Homework Assistance & Tutoring Program

Retired teachers, K-State students, and community members work together to provide individual homework assistance and skills improvement for elementary and secondary students. Educational games, as well as software, are used to provide improvement in math, reading and thinking skills. This is provided free of charge. As students complete their work, they progress toward special places marked on a map of Kansas and earn small prizes. Monday through Wednesday 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Douglass Community Center Annex. To enroll or for more information, please call Marianne Cullers at 785-539-6736 or email.
